Purpose/Summary

Responsibility to ensure a safe work environment, provide premier customer service, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvement.    

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Checks machined parts by CMM and hard gauges.
  • Ability to understand and complete length and radius off-sets and checks.
  • Basic understanding of how to read a blueprint.
  • Working knowledge of the metric system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot / diagnose production issues.
  • Changes cutting tools as necessary and verifies part quality.
  • Presets cutting tools following current Akebono procedures/systems.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks at beginning of shift.
  • Performs cleaning of machines both internal and external.
  • Assists in documenting Montronix alarms, damaged tools, and scrap reporting.
  • Performs general housekeeping measures around machining lines.
  • Train’s loaders on proper techniques for loading and unloading machines.
  • Loads and unloads machines on a rotation schedule
  • Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs work order entry into the MP2 system.
  • Monitors Production rates and reports at end of shift.
  • Performs all quality checks according to Akebono Quality System. Understands and demonstrates knowledge of quality system – QS/TS database system.
  • Responsible for notifying support groups.

 
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 6 months experience working in a CNC industrial environment.
 
           
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Must take and pass a Work Keys assessment test.
 
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. 


Physical Demands/Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
