Purpose/Summary
Responsible for performing daily finished goods & raw material inventory counts; identifying root causes & drive process improvements to increase inventory accuracy.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform daily RAW, WIP, and/or FINISHED GOODS material cycle counts & root cause analysis & correct as needed and verifies verbally and/or in writing to reconcile book to physical inventory.
  • Interacts with Planners, Shipping, Receiving, Accounting, Production, & Material Handling daily as needed
  • Checks database daily for transactions in error waiting to be processed.  Works with other departments to help resolve problems.
  • Must demonstrate a complete understanding of material movements within the ERP System to include: Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Adjustments, Scrap, Production Reporting, Splitting a Barcode, Service Orders & Physical Inventory
  • Uses manual dexterity & visual observation to operate office equipment such as computers, calculators, facsimile machines, photocopiers, telephones, etc.
  • Maintains office files for correspondence, reports & other documentation as assigned.  Involves bending, stooping, crouching & reaching to access file cabinets & to perform daily counts.
  • Works 70% of the time on the Shop Floor or in the Warehouse with 30% of time in an office environment with climate control & good lighting.  Required to examine inventory daily on the production floor wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Actively assist and participate in scheduled plant physical inventory
  • Assist in providing information for reporting Inventory KPI’s to Senior Management
  • Actively engage with operations to promote inventory accuracy related objectives
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies
  • Nurture positive relationships within the organization

Education and/or Experience
  • Some scheduling/planning experience is preferred.
  • Computer skills are a must; QAD & Excel experience a definite plus.

  • Must have ability to interact with all levels of the Akebono organization, Customers, & Suppliers in order to resolve issues & assure excellent customer service.

  • Must have the ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.

Physical Demands/Environment
This position requires the following physical abilities: to sit; to use hands (to finger, handle, or feel), to reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk and hear and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is mostly sedentary; however there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Other Requirements
There is travel required to visit suppliers, other Akebono facilities or customers, therefore ability to drive a motor vehicle is required.
