Purpose/Summary

Responsibility to ensure a safe work environment, provide premier customer service, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvement.    

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • The CNC Team Leader is responsible for performing the following duties:
  • Liaises between the team & management.
  • Training of CNC operators, associates, and temporary work force.
  • Ability to update training documentation, passports, and matrix.
  • Maintaining day to day work scheduling, safety, quality, and interfacing with management.
  • Assists in informing team of goals, results and company policies and practices.
  • Assists with leading continuous improvement projects including LEAN implementation and 5s initiatives.
  • Communicates with other teams and support departments as needed.
  • Assists with data collection and reporting.
  • Assists with resolving safety, quality, technical and tooling issues.
  • Ability to create work instructions.
  • Oversees the flow of product through his/her area of responsibility.
  • Develop, analyze, and present monthly reports on safety, quality, productivity, scrap and cost.
  • Able to assist with training in the Dojo.
  • Other duties as needed for the better good of the organization.

 
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
High School diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Trainer.
 
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must possess good written / verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must possess experience with CNC machines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft word, excel, & power point
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience working with LEAN practices.
  • Resume submission is required

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Business Administration or Engineering from accredited university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Trainer.
  • Must possess good written / verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must possess experience with CNC milling machines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft word, excel, & power point
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with LEAN practices.

 
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. 
 

Physical Demands/Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
