Aftermarket District Sales Manager
Purpose/Summary
This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager and will be responsible for managing and growing existing business, as well as identifying and closing new business opportunities. District sales managers must be highly motivated, organized, present a professional image, possess a strong work ethic, adhere all Akebono company policies and procedures, and be willing to travel extensively (up to 90% travel).
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Effectively manage the customers within the territory, drive long term profitable sales, and be extremely responsive to our customers’ needs
Provide weekly sales and activity reports to the Regional Sales Manager
Interface extensively with external customers and our internal customer service team throughout the entire selling process.
Nurture relationships with existing and new customers, and provide strong local customer event and trade show support
Identify profitable new business opportunities and be able to clearly convey our value proposition.
Track individual progress toward achieving our territory sales plan.
Monitor market and competitor activities and identify potential opportunities or impact to our business.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing expenses and effective time management.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university. (4-5) Years automotive parts sales experience preferred. Experience with automotive braking systems is preferred.

Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory with required overnight stays (90% travel requirement)

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sales budgets, sales forecasting, discounts, marketing and sales costs, gross and net margin, commissions, rebates, percentages and volume.
Multilingual (Spanish) a plus (Mandatory for the Latin America Export Region)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to exercise independent judgment to perform essential duties
Ability to develop instructions and guidelines to perform functions of the job as necessary
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility. However, this position is required to lead cross-functional teams and manage the multiple competing deadlines from each of the interfacing departments.
Physical Demands/Environment
This position requires the following physical abilities: to sit; to use hands (to finger, handle, or feel), to reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk, to hear and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is mostly sedentary; however, there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Other Requirements
Up to 90% travel required to visit other Akebono facilities, and customers or vendors, therefore flying and the ability to drive a motor vehicle is required. International or oversees travel may be required.
